ABOUT THE POSITION: We are seeking an experienced Metal Worker to join our solar roof crew based out of Waterbury, VT. Reporting to the Solar Roof Crew Lead, you will work on new roofing, re-roofing, and roof repair projects throughout the Vermont region. Committed to delivering the SunCommon Customer Experience, you will lead custom construction projects and provide training for new roofers. If you have 5+ years of metal working experience, are flexible, eager to learn, and dedicated to taking the best possible care of our customers and colleagues, we want to talk to you about the Metal Worker position! What you'll do as a Metal Worker (Responsibilities): Ensure adherence to quality and safety procedures, including the use of fall protection equipment Work in a team with other installers on new roof, re-roof and roof repair projects Thrive in an ever-changing industry, tackling new opportunities with a positive attitude Keep up-to-date on latest code and roofing installation techniques, and apply new knowledge to the job Actively contribute to a positive, enthusiastic, and adaptable team environment ABOUT YOU (Qualifications) The ideal candidate will have: 5+ years of metal working experience Experience with standing seam roofs preferred, including layout and custom fabrication from sheet metal using a metal brake Knowledge of solar/electrical systems is desired but not required; if you don’t know solar yet, we will train you! Experience inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects Knowledge of building codes and standards Top-notch customer service, communication, and relationship building skills Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs, bend, twist, kneel, squat, balance, climb ladders and work in varying weather conditions Valid driver's license and flexibility to travel throughout the Vermont region Commitment to SunCommon’s purpose and vision PAY: $23 - $27 / hour, based on experience PERKS & BENEFITS: FULLY PAID medical premiums and a significant contribution toward medical deductible expenses, for you AND your family FULLY PAID dental premiums for you AND your family 3 weeks PTO for 1st year and 4 weeks for year 2+ 401k with company match Student Loan Paydown Program Stock Purchase Program, and more!
