ABOUT THE SESSION Join Chef Heather of Joy Full Foods as she shares her secrets and tips on how to make foolproof focaccia bread easily at home along with her three favorite dips. ABOUT HEATHER SCHNEIDER Heather Schneider is a chef, recipe developer, and consultant. She is a Midwest native but honed her culinary skills while working under talented chefs in California, Maine, Toronto, and Europe. After soaking up as much knowledge as she could, Heather returned to Grand Forks and began working at Amazing Grains Food Co-op as the kitchen manager. It was there that she made sustaining connections with local growers and developed a passion for cooking with healthy ingredients. In 2014, Heather became the Executive Chef at the North Dakota Museum of Art. Heather refined her culinary technique while there and cultivated food photography skills that helped widen her customer base. She worked at the NDMOA for five years before leaving to start her own business, Joy Full Foods, in the fall of 2019. Joy Full Foods is a prepared food company with a focus on fresh, healthy, ready to eat food. Each week, customers receive a variety of seasonal dishes, featuring locally sourced ingredients. Another facet of Heather’s business is recipe development and consulting for local, national, and federal food organizations. She uses her extensive knowledge and expertise from over twenty years in the culinary industry to create and promote all things food. You can also find Heather at home cooking for her husband, Andy, and sons, Will and Jack. They are her built-in taste testers for her cookbook that she is currently working on.
