Description

Featuring artists, Lara Americo and Alicia Collins, the community can express their stories, identities, and self through art & Performance. Come express yourself through your body! In the form of fashion and print-making, artists Alicia Collins and Lara Americo will assist in participants expressing who they are in their own voice. In resonance with their collaboration with Jordan on the Transparency Project, participants will have a chance to express themselves, their identity, and their story which will be part of Transparency, a project using art as a platform for non-cisgender communities to tell us who they are in their own voice. Bring clothes, bring your sense of self, and bring something you are willing to leave behind! About the Artist Jordan T. Robinson (He/They) is an interdisciplinary artist and curator based in North Carolina. As an artist, much of their work is focused on identity and navigation. In their practice as an artist, they investigate matters of the mind, heart, and spirit that influences the will of people and how that is oriented around life, and circumstances. It is their hope that, in mapping their own multi-layered facets, others can better navigate themselves and achieve self-mastery. They describe themself as stuck between worlds never really belonging in a particular one. However, they end up in this space where they build the bridges to connect these worlds together. About Memoria Memoria is an attempt for communities to tell their own narratives and is a process of healing, reconciliation, and remembrance. For the artist, who is letting go of these memorabilia and the baggage they carry, it is about giving these objects a new life and a chance to live on their own as he parts ways with them to make room for new memories. Memoria is a project that will result in a body of mix-media art, sculptures, and small shrines decorating the exhibition space as we decorate our home.
