Description

A training designed for mental health & health care professionals, educators, faith leaders, and human services providers. Dr. Kristen Lee, Ed.D., LICSW, known as “Dr. Kris”, is an internationally recognized, award-winning behavioral science clinician, researcher educator, speaker, comedian, and activist from Boston. She works with organizations on how to use the science of behavioral change and human potential to build healthy mental health cultures that help prevent burnout and promote organizational and human sustainability. The pandemic has caused significant disruption and fear across the world. Coping with the realities of our times, all while trying to tend to professional and personal responsibilities, can ignite anxiety and a sense of overwhelm. Resilience is a process of positive adaption within the face of hardship. Modern brain science offers a host of strategies for cultivating resilience by leveraging “protective factors”-adopting and practicing mindsets, behaviors and activities that serve as buffers and help bolster our well-being. This training will help attendees consider ways to apply behavioral science solutions to cultivate resilience during this time of uncertainty and upheaval. Learn to relieve stress, practice self-care, and harness resources for individual and collective well-being. Dr. Lee will discuss ways to cope with the crisis at hand, and develop habits that promote optimal well-being and sustainability for the long run. Learn to apply the science of mindfulness, self-care, and behavior change that help you build the agility and resilience at work, home, and beyond. Dr. Lee will be speaking live in Storm Lake at Buena Vista University. We will also provide live simulcasts of the training at Sunnybrook Community Church in Sioux City and at Crossroads Pavilion Event Center in Sheldon.
