There will be door prizes as well as a lunch provided! Grace C Mae Advocate Center will be hosting a Mental Health Summit at the Washington High School on August 20, 2022 from 8:30-3:00. During the retreat, students in grades 10-12 will meet in a large group assembly and then go into separate break out rooms, have a chance to win prizes, as well as meet exhibitors that could provide valuable connections to them. During the assembly and breakout sessions, students will learn about the importance of mental health . We will be using the teen curriculum from Mental Health First Aid (https://www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org/), which Dr. Patricia Gilbaugh, founder and executive director of Grace C Mae Advocate Center, is certified to teach. MHFA takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health by improving understanding and providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address a potential mental illness.
