This workshop is designed to help planners integrate climate data and information into different community-level planning processes. The SC State Climatology Office, in collaboration with the Carolinas Integrated Sciences and Assessments (CISA), will host a series of one-day educational workshops about planning for future climate events and impacts in South Carolina. WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Individuals who contribute to planning processes such as comprehensive or hazard mitigation planning and floodplain management. WHAT WILL I LEARN: The workshop will provide information about climate trends in each region; tools and resources for accessing climate data and information; and examples of how climate has been integrated into different types of planning processes, such as comprehensive plans and hazard mitigation plans. There will also be time for small group discussion and support in learning how to access climate data for your community. View the Greenville workshop agenda here. We will offer professional development hours for floodplain managers, planners, and SC licensed engineers and land surveyors. Lunch will be provided.
