CUPERTINO, CA — LinkedIn announced in a note to employees that it is laying off 1,000 employees amid a global economic slowdown triggered by the coronavirus crisis, The Associated Press reports. The Cupertino-based professional networking site is trimming its workforce by about 6 percent as unemployment in the U.S. has risen above 13 percent, the report said. The job cuts will impact employees involved in global sales and hiring, CEO Ryan Roslansky said in the note, the report said. The employees will stay on in their current roles until Aug. 21, the report said. Read more at The Associated Press
