Darek has 19+ years of experience as a financial advisor. He began his career with Investment Advisors & Consultants, Inc. in 1992. From 1997 to 2003, Darek worked for UBS (formerly PaineWebber) and Smith Barney as a Vice-President of Investments. In 2005, Darek founded Aurora Strategic Advisors in New Jersey to support his clients in an advisory service. In 2013, Darek took an appointment as Director of the Office for Regional Initiatives at UNC Pembroke. After two years of active community involvement and economic development for the eight-county regions, Darek left UNC-Pembroke. In 2015, he founded Aurora Strategic Advisors, LLC in North Carolina (a Registered Investment Advisor firm). Darek also currently serves as an entrepreneur-in-residence for the Thomas Entrepreneurship Hub.
Darek is a graduate of Rutgers University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Policy. He is currently finishing his Ph.D. at Walden University in Health Sciences.
