DAY PORTER LEAD Location: Freemont CA, Hours: 6:00am – 2:30pm SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Day Porter Lead is responsible for the inspection and control of all custodial and related services associated within assigned contract. Specific responsibilities will be determined by client expectations, account manager discretion, and candidate capabilities and experience. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Make sure work procedures are followed and completed properly. • Make sure cleaning supplies and consumables are ordered and on site. • Make sure new hires and staff have received the proper training. • Make sure inspections are completed and any failures have been corrected. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Counsels, coaches, and directs custodians. • Ability to learn contract requirements and create schedules, maintain staffing levels to satisfy work requirement. • Ability to train custodians on work-related equipment. • Produce reports and summaries as required. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: • Coordinate with customer management representatives on all matters relating to services performed. • Resolves clients’ concerns, conduct follow-up calls and inspections for satisfactory job performance. • Meet periodically with subordinates to review status of various elements of facility services and to institute corrective measures for any deficiencies found • Ensures all equipment in proper working condition including carts, steam cleaners, etc. • Order replacement items and coordinate equipment repairs. • Perform any additional duties on an "as required" basis where such duties are within the scope of contractual responsibilities. REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education and/or Experience): • Ability to speak English and communicate effectively. • Must be able to operate various types of equipment and may frequently lift/move 30 pounds. • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and experience working closely with contractors, vendors, suppliers. • Two years of recent experience in custodial and related field. • Have general hands-on knowledge of routine nightly and daytime facility cleaning and related services. • High School education or equivalent preferred. • Must read, write and speak English, and speak Spanish.
