Read on for updates on upcoming events for the Smith College Club of Phoenix! President McCartney MIM Event We regret to announce that President McCartney’s MIM event is cancelled. In accordance with school policy, Smith is abstaining from large group events at this time. Rose & Ivy/April 23rd Event-Smithies Reconnect In lieu of our annual Rose & Ivy event, you are invited to the home of Judy Pelham on April 23rd from 4-6pm to enjoy the sunset, wine, cheese and conversation. THIS IS A FREE EVENT. It will give all of us a chance to socialize and regroup after the rollercoaster of the past 2+ years. Smithies are welcome to bring a plus one - please RSVP for two tickets if you are bringing a guest. Understandably, we are disappointed to cancel Rose & Ivy. If you wish to receive a refund, please contact our Treasurer, Stefanie Cargill at [email protected]. If you wish to contribute your Rose & Ivy fee to support your Club, it would be appreciated. Club Activities Membership dues and other contributions help with expenses related to activities which promote social connections, networking, professional and personal development. Many of our responsibilities did not suspend with COVID restrictions. Where do dues go? --Admissions --Support recruiting efforts for prospective students --Admitted students party/package --Support Current Students --Assist current students with clothing winter clothing purchases, special skills training, and other needs. --December Care package to students --Operations --Annual newsletter printing and mailing costs --Shipping supplies and postage for December Care Package --Eventbrite fees, credit card processing and transaction fees --Social & Networking --Food & Beverage at most events --Space rental fees for in-person events --Speaker Fees and Transportation fees, as needed Recruiting Update We had 47 applicants from our region apply to Smith and four Early Decision students committed to attending Smith. Regular decision numbers will come out later this Spring.
