Description

Leaders and business owners in the Wells area- You are invited to join the REV team on March 17th for our Ripple Effects Mapping workshop. Please join us on March 17th for our Ripple Effects Mapping session. We need your feedback on the Wells business environment and what resources, opportunities and barriers to entry exist when starting or growing a business in Wells. Dinner will be served after the workshop! Ripple Effects Mapping is a highly participatory evaluation method in which we engage a range of stakeholders, including the people who have been most involved with REV as well as those who have been involved peripherally. Scott Chazdon, Evaluation & Research Specialist with the University of Minnesota Extension Center for Community Vitality will be leading the workshop. Ripple Effects Mapping (REM) is an evaluation method that engages program stakeholders to retrospectively and visually map the chain of effects resulting from a program or complex collaboration. The process carves out time to reflect on their accomplishments as a group and think together about where they are heading. We start by having people interview each other using a set of questions based in appreciative inquiry. Each person then reports out some of the key things they heard in their interview and a facilitator captures the information on a mind map. After a meal break, we talk about themes in the data and begin to organize all the information according to these themes. The process is very energizing and motivating.
