This is a full day seminar that will give you a taste of everything you need to know about beekeeping and the Western Honeybee This family friendly event is a collaboration between the Ridge Beekeeper Association, Polk County, and UF/IFAS Polk County. The purpose of this event is to provide science-based education to the public about Beekeeping in Florida and the importance of Western Honeybee. Some of the topics that will be teach at the event are: • Hive construction • Starting a hive • Honey Extraction • Bee transport • Queen Bees • Nectar Sources • Wax Rendering • Tools • Pest and Diseases • Looking Inside the Hive If you want to start as a beekeeper or just want to know more about honeybees, don’t pass up this opportunity.
