NORTHPORT, NY — Skylar and Jojo, who are 6-month-old bonded siblings, and their 1-year-old friend, Barbie, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cats of the Week. "When bonded siblings JoJo and Skylar were placed in our habitats in Huntington Petco they were frightened and nervous," Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue, said. "Our wonderful volunteers worked on a daily basis with them and they were coming along nicely. But then something magical happened! Barbie came along and pulled them both out of their shells! She has formed a special connection with Jojo and they play while sister Skylar watches their silly antics." Barbie will go into their habitat to cuddle with them both, according to Wild. "Jojo has looked after his sister Skylar, since the day they were rescued," Wild said. "Jojo loves to play while Skylar seems to smile while watching her silly brother. She makes the best biscuits while being pet. She is at ease when he is near, and we would love for them to be adopted together." Barbie, rescued from the streets of Brooklyn, loves to play as much as she loves to be pet and cuddled, Wild said. "She is a very special girl, somewhat of a guardian angel, comforting her 2 kitten friends and teaching them to let down their guard and trust and have fun. She has beautiful fur, and is sure to be an amazing addition to any family." All three are spayed or neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
