SAN JOSE, CA — A juvenile was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of the Halloween night battery of a grocery store employee, San Jose police said. The 37-year-old male victim was retrieving carts from the parking lot of the FoodMaxx on Parkmoor Avenue when the suspect attacked. Officers responded around 9:15 p.m. and found the victim with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital and his current status has not been made public by police. Police said they were able to locate the suspect because of the community's help after the department sent out information about the attack last month. "This is yet another example of the strength of the community and its desire to work with the Police Department to aid in successful resolutions to violent crimes. Without the community's assistance this case may not have been solved," police said in a statement. The suspect, whose name isn't being released because he is underage, has been booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of assault with great bodily injury. — Bay City News and Patch Editor Gideon Rubin contributed to this report
