SAN JOSE, CA — A Christmas tree fire tore through a South Bay home early Tuesday morning, The Mercury News reports. Firefighters responding soon after a report of the blaze came in at 3:30 a.m. found the single-family home in the 1100 block of Lick Ave. engulfed in flames and smoke when they arrived, the report said. Structure fire on the 1100 block of lick Ave. four residents and one dog displaced and assisted by Red Cross. One FF with minor injuries transported to local hospital and one resident with minor injuries assisted by county EMS. Fire not yet under control. pic.twitter.com/lgCLHLSOIO— San Jose Fire Dept. (@SJFD) December 15, 2020The blaze that injured two including a firefighter according to the report. The tree at the center of the blaze was near a faulty outlet and hadn't been properly watered, the report said. One firefighter was hospitalized with minor injuries and another person was treated at the scene by paramedics, the San Jose Fire Department said.
