WAUKESHA, WI — A 50-year-old man has died after a house fire in southern Waukesha on Tuesday, the Waukesha Fire Department and Police Department announced. The man remains unnamed while the Waukesha County Medical Examiner determines the cause of death, fire and police officials said in a joint statement. The man died at 10 a.m., officials added. Four people remain at a local hospital: Two women, one in her 50s and another in her 20s, suffered life-threatening injuries, the fire department said. Two men in their 20s are in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. While officials are investigating the cause of the fire, they don't believe there was criminal intent behind the fire, the fire department said. Firefighters responded to a call of a fire at a four-unit, multi-family house in southern Waukesha at 1:25 a.m. on Tuesday, the Waukesha Fire Department said in a statement. Firefighters treated two people that had jumped from second story windows and rescued two more from inside a burning house on 1211 Lambeth Road, the fire department said in a statement. Police said they could see a "lot of flames" coming from the first floor of house when they arrived, police call logs showed. Two people were found injured outside of the building and firefighters went inside to find two more people, the fire department added. A total of five people were found injured and were taken to a local hospital. Emergency services from Vernon, the Village of Waukesha, Pewaukee and New Berlin were called to help, the fire department said. Waukesha police and fire services are investigating the cause of the fire and there was no cost damage available. No firefighters were injured, the department added.
