Here are the top three stories in Buffalo today: As the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues, Mayor Byron Brown says people fleeing Ukraine are welcome in Buffalo. Said Brown, "Anything we can do to support the people of Ukraine at this time, including taking refugees, we will do that in the City of Buffalo." It is not currently clear whether any Ukrainian refugees are coming to Western New York at this time. (WIVB.com - News 4)In Tuesday night's meeting, the Buffalo Common Council adopted a resolution to dismantle the city's current Police Advisory Board. Councilman David Rivera proposed the disassembly amid five board member resignations in the last month. In the resolution, the Common Council would need to create a new police advisory board to continue police-community relations. (WKBW 7 News Buffalo)A local man has been charged for allegedly pretending to be an attorney. According to investigators, Andrew Schnorr defrauded Buffalo residents out of over $22,000 while representing them during legal proceedings. A previous investigation in 2019 showed that Schorr had been hired at a law firm after submitting an application with false credentials.
