Vienna Vies For Most Fit Community Title, Participants Wanted

VIENNA, VA — Will this be the year Vienna claims the title of Most Fit Community? The Town of Vienna will join a friendly competition against the City of Falls Church and City of Fairfax for the Mayors' Fitness Challenge from March 19 to May 7. This eight-week competition encourages participants to walk, bike, hike or do any physical exercise they'd like. Participants will track their physical exercise minutes each day or week in a Google doc. At the end of the competition, minutes will be tallied and averaged for each locality. The locality with the highest average will claim the title of Most Fit Community. The winner gets a trophy and bragging rights. Registration is free, but participants can pay $5 to receive a 2022 Mayors' Fitness Challenge T-shirt. Town residents, town employees and business employees are encouraged to participate. Employees should use their work address when registering. Register online with activity number 453701-A1 and get a T-shirt with activity number 453701-B1. Participants may also call the Vienna Community Center at 703-255-6360 to register.
