ARLINGTON, MA — A chef from Arlington is the latest to beat Bobby Flay on the celebrity chef's Food Network show of the same name. Jon Keeley, a 2001 graduate of Minuteman High School, is now an executive chef at Fire Restaurant and Lounge in Denver, according to the school's newsletter. He was featured on an episode of "Beat Bobby Flay" that aired Feb. 24. "Bobby Flay was a very kind host and I couldn't have asked for a better competitor," Keeley told his alma mater. The show pits two executive chefs against each other in the first round of competition. Each chef is asked to prepare a dish in 20 minutes using an ingredient selected by Flay. After a winner is chosen, that chef moves on to face Flay in the 45-minute final round. Keeley won with his famous rabbit pot pie, Fox 31 in Denver reported. Keeley is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts with an associate's degree in culinary arts and chef training. He previously worked as a culinary director at the Sand Valley Golf Resort in Wisconsin and as executive chef at Walton Street Kitchen and Bar in Chicago.
