Here are the top three stories in Norfolk today: Emergency food box distributions will begin on Mar. 18 from the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore. Residents who make less than 185 percent of the state's poverty line are able to receive assistance through the USDA program meant to provide nourishment to Norfolk. Only one person per household will be eligible to register for the program. (News 3 WTKR Norfolk)The City of Norfolk has reported its highest local COVID-19 infection increase in a single day. The numbers have been compiled and released by the Virginia Department of Health on a daily basis. According to the health department, there are 1,650,281 cases throughout the state. The local sister city association requested the council to not sever its ties but the council voted unanimously to end the relationship.
