Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans: A judge has ruled that New Orleans cops can now work more off-duty detail hours. Due to a shortage of officers combined with more requests for private security details, the previous rule that officers can only work 24 extra hours of off-duty work per week has been lifted. This is a part of a pilot program that ends in July when the rule could potentially become law. (U.S. News & World Report) A 19-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday for the homicide of a six-month-old child left in her care. The infant was transported to a hospital upon police arrival where he was declared dead. The suspect is facing second-degree murder charges. (WDSU New Orleans) The Orleans Parish School Board will interview 15 candidates for the new superintendent of New Orleans Public schools. You can see who they are here.
