Here are the top three stories today in Franklin: A plumbing repair sparked a fire at a Boyd Mill Estates home on Quail Court Tuesday evening. Fire officials say the fire began in a wall cavity between the kitchen and laundry room where the repair had been made earlier in the day, then into the attic. No one was injured in the blaze, but the couple who lived there has been displaced. (WKRN News 2)Williamson County Schools has been ranked as the third best school district in Tennessee. The ranking from Stacker evaluated a range of criteria including academic performance, teacher salaries, and expenses per student to determine the top ten school districts in the state. Williamson County Schools came in just behind Maryville City Schools and Collierville Schools, which took second and first place respectively. (WATE.com)A high school senior from Franklin took first place at the 2022 Tennessee Poetry Out Loud competition. The competition was held on Saturday, Mar. 5, at the Tennessee State Museum and featured 14 finalists from across the state. As the champion, Kendall Grimes will move on to compete in the national semifinals on Sunday, May 1.
