WILSONVILLE, OR —A tax exemption that allows apartment facilities to provide lower rent to families in need has been renewed for another year by the city council. The exemption goes to the operators of five Wilsonville multi-family facilities.
The exemption allows lower rent for people who meet income qualifications including families and seriors.
The five facilities receiving the exemption are Autumn Park Apartments, Charleston Apartments, Creekside Woods LP, Rain Garden LP and Wiedemann Park.
In all, the five provide 365 units of affordable housing.
In other council business:
They adopted two resolutions to annex and rezone nearly 10 acres in the Frog Pond neighborhood;They told Parks and Recreation staff to pursue a grant for funds to improve a trail segment at The Park at Merryfield; andMayor Fitzgerald announced a nearly $2 million appropriation from the state legislature that will help fund affordable housing at a new development adjacent to the Wilsonville Transit Center.
