Dodge Nature Center Offering 2 Maple Syruping Programs This Month

WEST ST. PAUL, MN —The Dodge Nature Center, located in West St. Paul, just outside of Mendota Heights, is hosting two Maple Syruping programs later this month. The events will take place from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on March 19 and March 26 at the Main Property Farm Entrance at 31701 Charlton Street. The programs give visitors of all ages a chance to watch a tree-tapping demonstration, collect sap, visit the evaporator and sample delicious maple syrup. "Celebrate the return of spring by observing the age-old process of turning tree sap into syrup," the Dodge Nature Center said in a description of the activity. "These programs are sure to hit the sweet spot with your whole family. On a March afternoon, tap into this sugary outdoor activity!" The Maple Syruping program costs $7. Tickets to both the March 19 event, and March 26 event can be purchased online. Pre-registration is required. According to the Dodge Nature Center, the program is designed for individuals and families with children of kindergarten-age and older. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Founded in 1967, the Dodge Nature Center allows people in the Twin Cities to experience the beauty of nature and engage in environmental education, according to the center's website. At the 460-plus-acre center, visitors can hike eight miles of trails, explore prairies, woodlands and wetlands and see farm animals, raptors and local wildlife.
