Description

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Think you have the "right stuff?" Two lucky students from every legislative district in Alabama will soon be selected to participate in Space Academy for Leading Students in Alabama (SALSA) at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Click here to subscribe to our free daily newsletter and breaking news alerts. The program is open to ages 12 to 14 and funded through the Alabama Legislature. Each district will see one male and one female student selected and given a scholarship to attend a special session of Space Academy in Huntsville. During the weeklong program, students will learn the history of the space program, in addition to learning to work together as a team using STEM concepts to solve complex problems. What's more, participants will learn to train like an astronaut using authentic simulators, before embark on their own simulated space mission to the International Space Station, the Moon or Mars. Click here to learn more about the program and to apply! Have a news tip or suggestion on how I can improve Tuscaloosa Patch?
