Putin said that any aircraft departing and returning from a NATO country (Poland) would an act of aggression. Putin grew up as a rough bully in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). Escalating this situation will put Paranoid Putin in a corner. Anything close to his border is a personal threat. Once he gets in a corner he will launch nukes and start WW3. He blames everything like the Arab Springs (Middle East uprisings for democracy) to any kind of threat to dictatorships as a threat. He grew up as a bully and his past ties to counter intelligence make him very volatile. I don't believe there are any airfields left in Ukraine to operate from. I'm thinking helicopters or Harrier Jump Jets to operate from a temp air base in Ukraine. Based on Trump's behavior about Russia, he would have dismantled NATO and be failing at business in the former Soviet Union now.
