Moving is in the air and it is because of the times. The economic downfall has led to the lowest interest rates in the history of the United States. We are seeing homes selling faster than I have ever seen in my life because of the low-interest rates and the longing for people to leave major cities. This is because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the riots that keep taking place. But what I have seen in my family and friends moving constantly and I have learned a few things about it. There are so many ways to move and so many excellent ways in different locations. Each family has different items and there are lots of good ways to do things and not all of them are the same. But when it comes down to it the mode of transportation really does help. Some people are not willing to rent vehicles and instead only want to use friends and family trucks and vans. I would have to say that this is very normal and what many people try to do to not only save money but the liability of renting vehicles as well. They don't like the idea of driving a trailer around or a big truck. This means that they are limited to what they can carry and if you only are moving lots of cheap moving boxes then this is a pretty good idea. If you don't have major furniture or huge items to move then using trucks and vans is a great idea. The gas is usually low and you only have to get friends and family to help. This can keep costs down as well. Some of the downfalls to moving with these vehicles is that they are small. Trucks are hard to load because they sit high up and only hold 4 to 6 feet in length items. That sounds like a lot of room, but if you have a 300lb dresser and need to lift it 4 feet high and also trying not to scratch the truck or dresser things go wrong. I have seen many injuries and many items damaged trying to get heavy items into smaller vehicles. This is one cost that many people do not take into account. So if you have big or heavy items these cars may not be the best. But if its just cheap moving boxes being tossed in then this is a great way to go. Another option is to rent or get a family member to bring a low trailer like ajtnt.com. I have found this item to be the best at moving people. It sits low and usually has a ramp to walk upon. It is so simple to load and lift furniture or big heavy items. You can also wheel a dolly right onto most of them and that allows one person to move large items all alone. Now I do suggest having multiple people around, but a dolly and a trailer can be the best way to move large items. A major downfall to many trailers is that they are open-topped. This means that they have no roof and if it rains then you are allowing the water to get on everything. I have had this happen and we lost many items due to rain and water damage. Wood does not do well if it is not treated well and many dressers are not treated for water only for looks.
