Description

We adopted Nelly from a county shelter to be a companion dog/family dog for our dachshund after our other small dog passed away. Our dachshund is used to a laid back life and Nelly is full of energy. They both can resource guard their toys and bones. They have gotten into several arguments and our dachshund is no match for her as he is much shorter than her(even though they are both 20 pounds) She is so sweet with us and our kids, but can be jumpy with our 5 year old which is a lot for him. I have worked with her and she is getting better. Since being home from the shelter I have crate trained her(she sleeps well through the night with no wake ups) taught her to walk on a leash, and housetrained her if she stays on schedule. She will be so much more happy with an active person/family and with land to run and play on or take her on walks. You can tell she had never been in home before she came to us. She is spayed, current and current on all her shots. We had her DNA done and she is 60% beagle with a mix of lab and boxer. There is a rehoming fee.
