Talk to any liberal democrat and the conversation will quickly turn to biden's green energy policy. They will tell you that biden is saving the world by forcing us to go electric for our transportation needs. If you ask them how and when this can be accomplished their reply will be, raise the price of gas and oil to the point that consumers have no choice but to go electric. The how, according to them; Just shut down gas and oil production. The when; do it now. If you remind them that less than 20% of our electricity needs come from renewable sources, they accuse you of lying. If you tell them that over 60% of our electricity needs come from fossil fuels and our country would have to shut down if we could no longer use fossil fuels they become belligerent, say you are lying and accuse you of wanting to destroy our world. Once they regain their composure, they say we would just generate more electricity. Remind them again that over 60% of our electrical needs are generated by fossil fuels and that you lose two thirds of the energy potential of fossil fuel to generate one third of equivalent electrical energy. In other words, you can go three miles on the same amount of fossil fuel as it would take to generate enough electricity to go one mile using electric power. Instead of cutting down on the use of fossil fuel, you have to use 2/3ed more fossil fuel to generate enough energy to supply our needs. This is when they go full out Karen on you.
