Description
Semi-retired musician looking to put together a group to form a quirky acoustic group. Electric instruments are OK keeping in mind that we're leaning more towards acoustic sound and feel. The look of the band should be suits and ties, dresses and semi formal/business and even formal from ANY era you'd like-zuit suits, 50's clothing, 70's groovy, ANY era is good. You just have to dress professionally at EVERY gig. I'd love to find a male or female vocalist that also plays an instrument. Looking for a percussionist more than a drummer. I play mostly rhythm guitar and some vocals. I'm trying to keep an acoustic, jazzy vibe, jazzy rock like:
Think Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks. Spooky(Classics 4) Smooth Operator (Sade) She's No Lady She's My Wife (Lyle Lovette), Maybe a rockabilly tune or two, Boot/Walking (Nancy Sinatra) Moody Richard (Dan Hicks/Hot Licks) Viva Las Vegas (Elvis) King of the Road (Roger Miller) Waitress In A Donut Shop (Maria Muldaur), Moondance (Van Morrison) Dead Flowers (Stones) Don't Get Around Much Anymore (Nat Cole etc.), Sunny (Bobby Hebb), maybe a couple of Real Book selections, You Know I'm No Good (Amy Winehouse), All Of Me, Girl From Ipanema, Lady Luck (Kenny Loggins) Satin Doll (Duke) Solitary Man (Neil Diamond) some groovy 60's lounge tunes.
PS We'll probably end up doing most of the tunes I listed here, so this is a good start, I have rehearsal space with PA mics monitors etc...thanks for reading
