Job Overview: The essential role of mobile diesel and chassis technicians is to perform Basic and Preventative Inspections on Commercial Vehicles and Chassis/Trailers. Another essential role of mobile diesel and chassis technicians is to maintain, and repair commercial vehicles and trailers used for national and international shipping distribution. A mobile diesel and chassis repair technician performs preventative and corrective maintenance when equipment is out of service or when stationary in the terminal/distribution yard. Job Responsibilities and accountability: · Troubleshoot and repair all commercial vehicles, and chassis/trailer defects. · Including ABS systems; air brake system, wheels end, and structural assemblies · Some welding and fabrication of chassis and shipping containers. Job Requirements: · 2+ years Diesel Mechanic experience required · Chassis Mechanic experience preferred · Welding Experience preferred · Valid Driver’s License. · Ability to work outside in all types of weather · Must be willing to travel approximately 25% · Capable of working at heights of 50 to 150 feet · Must be willing to work all shifts as required · Capable of lifting 50lbs with or without assistance · Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. · Must have basic computer skills and comfortable working on a computer.
