Description
This weekly Women's Ecotherapy Group is rooted in nature and body-based practices. This group offers a place to connect and explore issues relating to living in this world as a woman, and will incorporate somatic, expressive arts, and strengths-based practices. Any female-identifying person may join. Bring your anxiety or depression, issues with identity, life purpose and meaning, your trauma, relational struggles, your grief. This group will be facilitated through a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lens. The approach is direct and holistic, integrating deep listening, nature, spirit, and body-based practices, experiential learning, and the arts. Our work is deeper and fuller outdoors where we can engage with movement and nature. We will work to deepen your experience, awareness, and connections, and increase self-awareness and acceptance. Discover the wisdom within you, connect to nature and a supportive community of women, and live a fuller life. Because this group meets in person, membership is limited to 8 members during covid-19. Please be prepared with a blanket/chair to sit on, and layers to be comfortable in the outdoors. This location is bike/car/bus accessible. This group offers sliding scale $30-110 per session based on your own determination of what is fair and feasible. Please reach out to me directly at [email protected] with any questions or concerns. In this life we are often asked to adhere to Leave No Trace wilderness ethics. While these are valuable guidelines for human use of wild spaces, the traces are what we are often left with. When we honor the traces that we leave, we are intentional in our practices and grounded in the recognition that we each impact and are impacted in every moment. “Everything in nature invites us constantly to be what we are.” – Gretel Ehrlich Lauren Hoernig (she/her) is a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee practicing ecotherapy in the Bay Area, California. Lauren is supervised by Lacy Martinez, LMFT #93493, with Axis Mundi Center for Mental Health.
