Greg Levine, Trees Atlanta Co-Executive Director, leads a tree walk along the streets of the neighborhood in which he lives Poncey Highland was recently designated as a Historic District, home of The Plaza Theatre, one of the few remaining historic theaters in Atlanta and notable locations, such as the Highland Inn and Clermont Lounge. Greg Levine, Trees Atlanta Co-Executive Director, leads a tree walk along the streets of the neighborhood in which he lives. You will discover a secret hundred-year old alleyway filled with unusual species of trees and plants and learn to easily identify the unique tree species that grow in Poncey Highland. You will appreciate the emerging leaves on trees as they begin to awaken from their winter slumber and many flowering species beginning to bloom. The walk will be 1.5 miles along the street sidewalks. Tour will start at Java Vino (579 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307) And end at Manuel's Tavern (602 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307) . On-street parking available along Williams Mill Road. Accessible through the Freedom Park Trail. Bike racks available in front of JavaVino. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing and bring drinking water, bug and sun protection. All Phoenix Flies programs adhere to current City of Atlanta health and safety guidelines. All guests, program partners, and employees must wear CDC approved masks for the duration of their visit.
