Wind River Canine Partners, LLC is seeking a part-time and/or full-time Kennel Technician to join our team. A candidate for this position should be comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments and be willing to follow individual protocols set out by trainers for dogs with behavioral issues. Previous pet industry experience is a plus but not required! This individual should have a good work ethic, strong attention to detail, be able to work independently and have great customer service skills. This individual should also be familiar with basic computer skills, including word-processing programs and email. This is a physically demanding job that works outdoors in all seasons and all types of weather. You MUST be in good physical condition. You must be able to work all shifts, including overnights. Note – Our overnight shifts require you to remain on-site in provided staff quarters but is not a true “graveyard” shift. This shift can work well for students but be aware that you are “on call” during the night and must get up to address any disturbances. Job Responsibilities & Requirements include: • Feeding, watering, and caring for 5-30 dogs • Ability to lift up to 50lbs • Ability to safely handle dogs who may pull on leash • Cleaning and maintenance of office, yards, and sleeping barns. This includes minor repair work. • Accepting and returning customer phone calls and emails • Scheduling boarding and daycare reservations • Be willing and able to learn about and use various training gear. • Assisting trainers and maintaining consistent behavior with Board & Train clients by always following our standard handling and training protocols. • For overnight shifts: Remain on-call for overnight shifts in provided staff quarters to address disturbances as needed. Qualified candidates will participate in an over-the-phone interview and an on-site job shadow prior to offer. The position will be on average 15-20 hours per week with the possibility of picking up shifts where coverage is needed. Training pay starts at $10.50/hour, once training concludes your pay is increased to $11/hour. Overnight shifts receive an additional on-call stipend of $50. Candidates must be able to work all shifts.
