We're excited to announce we're opening a full-service bike repair shop inside the newly built Community Hub at the Stanford Research Park! The Hub is centrally located within the Research Park at 3215 Porter Drive. This shop will support the more than 1,000 individuals who combine fun, fitness, and sustainability as they bicycle to the Research Park each day. Successful candidates will have a winning combination of superior customer service skills and bicycle repair skills. You will need to project the self-confidence of an industry expert when discussing repairs and have a broad knowledge of our products so you can guide the customer in enhancing their experience by upgrading their ride. You are a Mike’s Bikes brand advocate and ambassador, the sole representative of our Core Values to that customer, for that interaction. You will need to come up with solutions on the fly and resolve issues before they become serious issues. Duties: • Execute successful repairs independently to the satisfaction of department standards. • Communicate with customers in person and via Ikeono regarding the status of their bicycle repair. • Complete daily tasks as assigned within prescribed timelines while communicating any exceptions to the General Manager. • Keep abreast of technical aspects of bicycle repair, and new products by completing assigned Myagi training modules by the deadlines. • Maintain tools and bench area on a daily basis according to department standards. • Become familiar with Mike's Bikes' safety program as it applies to your job. Wear safety equipment as required when using the grinder, heat gun, air compressor, drills, etc. • Learn and follow safety procedures when utilizing degreasers, lubricants and ArmaKleen Parts Cleaner. Requirements: • Good communication skills and independent problem solving skills. • Ability to lift 30 lbs overhead and 50 lbs to shoulder height. • Ability to stand at a bike repair stand for an entire 8-hour work shift. • Ability to use hand tools with repetitive motions, including twisting, pushing and pulling. • Ability to succeed in goal-oriented, disciplined environment.
