POSITION’S PRIMARY PURPOSE The primary purpose of this position is to excavate and properly prepare holes in the ground for the inspection and installation of underground pipes. This position will also be responsible for the backfill and surface restoration of the disturbed ground. DESCRIPTION OF SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Duties are listed in order of their importance. The approximate percent of time that should be spent on each duty is indicated. 1. Laborers will excavate holes at job sites to a shape and depth suitable for the inspection, installation and connection of underground pipes. The hole parameters will vary depending on whether this is a trenching or trenchless installation. This will require the use of hand tools, and may require the use of power tools to break concrete, asphalt, etc. which the position occupant will safely remove from the work area. 50% 2. As directed by the supervisor the Laborer will backfill, compact and restore jobsite surface areas including concrete, garden plants, grass and shrubs, stepping stones and other embedments, and will assist other crew members as they perform these same tasks. 25% 3. As directed by the supervisor, the Laborer will drive company vehicles in a safe and lawful manner. Laborers are required to have an active driver’s license and to maintain a safe driving record while employed at Pipe Spy Inc. 10% 4. Laborers will lift, carry and secure jobsite materials, tools and equipment as needed during the course of each workday to facilitate the completion of that day's work and any logical preparation for the succeeding day's work. 10% 5. Miscellaneous tasks will be assigned by the supervisor or other senior manager of the company. This may include shop work such as the arranging and counting of inventory, washing company trucks, general yard clean up, etc. 5%
