Description
Brutus is an energetic, beautiful Aussie Cattle Dog Mix (with some German Shepherd?). The shelter thinks he's ~5 years old but has the energy level of a 6 month old. He's potty trained, doesn't make a sound when indoors, and overall a very polite young boy. He's very pack oriented and will always wait for you before moving forward too.
His favorite thing in the world is playing fetch. He'll always bring the ball/frisbee right back to you, eager for you to throw it again - he literally never gets tired. He loves going on long walks for hours. We've walked 10+ hours/ day in the city, long hikes and backpacking trips in the Sierras and he never gets tired and is always ready for more.
He still needs to work on not pulling while walking. He was adopted in Yreka, CA and is still getting used to all the city noises and bustle. He LOVES cuddling and affection so if you enjoy sleeping with your dog, you will always be comforted and loved by big ol' Brutus.
The only con Brutus has is that he doesn't do well with most dogs. He either needs to be the only dog in the household or with another dog who completely leaves him alone. He's has done well with dogs who don't give him any attention because he's the same way. If the other dog doesn't care about Brutus then he feels okay and even cuddles with them (picture included). The issue is that most other dogs are playful and want to play with him but he always interprets that as aggression and tries to preemptively attack. I've only had Brutus for 3 months and I think it can be something he can be trained out of eventually.
Some other facts about Brutus:
-All his vaccinations are current
-He's ~45 lbs
-Loves car rides
-Great recall, can hike off-leash (not in the city because of him not doing well with other dogs)
