We're so excited to welcome you back to the Chasity D. Barnes Memorial Scholarship Awards Dinner! We missed you! This year you can expect a night of fun and plenty of laughter.
Tonya Terry is emcee our program. Tonya is the outspoken, effervescent fireball who works daily to maintain her passion for life and create a legacy for self discovery, health & wellness and empowering women!βββ Tonya is actually known by a lot of people for her years as a morning news anchor and reporter at several radio and television stations across the Southeast. Itβs that effervescent, Southern charm that made her a household name.
Pamela Short will bring us some words of wisdom and guidance when it comes to our mental health. She is an assistant professor in the Auburn University College of Nursing and a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor. She also started a non-profit organization called Kenny's Kouncil in memory of her brother who passed away at a young age after being diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and depression.
Deno Posey will bring us our entertainment for the evening. Deno is from Birmingham Alabama and is one of the hottest stand-up comedians and host with years of experience in the business. He is also as an Executive Vice President of a Fortune 500 company. He has performed, interviewed and hosted a plethora shows with many of the biggest names in comedy music and politics such as Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, Sinbad, Najee, Reuben Studdard, Chante Moore, Musiq Soulchild, and most recently toured with the R&B chart topping group After 7.
And of course we'll be awarding scholarships to local high school students!
