NORWOOD, MA - The Skating Club of Boston in Norwood is responding to a call to aid Ukraine from Iryan Mazur, the Honorary Consul of Ukraine, gathering boxes of supplies from its members to ship to the ravaged country.
"It seems that the effort is going well so far," said Jack Zeghibe, the communications manager of the Skating Club of Boston. "We've been collecting donations in our main lobby but the overflow of donation items has run into our ticket office and now almost fills the space completely."
He added that "this all came together pretty last minute last week" through an appeal on social media asking that its members consider donating items.
This link shows all of the items that are in great demand, frim clothing in all sizes to canned food to medical supplies.
Some of the most critical medical items include tourniquets, first aid dressings, Betadyne, am suture materials.
The Club is asking for all donations to be delivered by the end of the day on Wednesday, March 9, so that it in turn can arrange for their shipment to the Ukrainian Embassy.
For any questions regarding this humanitarian effort, please contact the Club's Membership Services Director, Katharine Steeger, at [email protected].
