EAST VILLAGE, NY — Mayor Eric Adams went restaurant hopping in the East Village on Monday, ending his tour by eating vegan Borscht soup at the popular Ukrainian restaurant Veselka. Adams was joined at his fourth East Village restaurant of the day by Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, Councilmember Carlina Rivera, and other elected officials and small business leaders. "We may have to do this again with COVID, but in the meantime, we can't sit at home hoping that it doesn't come while our city is not prospering," Adams said outside Veselka when asked if he's concerned that his removal of the indoor vaccine mandate could trigger a coronavirus resurgence, reported the Daily News.
