BEVERLY, MA — Beverly Bootstraps will use a $10,000 donation from People's United Bank to go toward evolving services to help local families in need amid the COVID-19 health crisis.
Beverly Bootstraps, which has served families with emergency and long-term assistance for three decades since its inception as a food pantry in a church basement, continues to expand its programs around education, stability, sustainability and self-sufficiency for youth and adults in Essex County. Beverly Bootstraps is adding services for families in Essex, Hamilton and Wenham to its services for those in Beverly and Manchester By The Sea.
The donation from the People's United Community Foundation of Eastern Massachusetts, the charitable arm of People's United Bank, will provide support for general operations and infrastructure needs.
"We are grateful for the donation provided by People's United Community Foundation of Eastern Massachusetts," Beverly Bootstraps Executive Director Sue Gabriel said. "With this donation, we can continue to provide these critical resources and expand our services to help more families in need."
The latest donation adds to the more than $100,000 People's United has donated to Beverly Bootstraps in recent years.
"We are pleased to be able to make another contribution to the noble mission of Beverly Bootstraps, which has done an extraordinary job of meeting the increased needs in our communities," said Patrick Sullivan, Massachusetts President, EVP of People's United Bank and Officer of the Foundation. "In these unprecedented times, their work is vital to helping families."
