TOWSON, MD — The Towson-Loch Raven fireworks will return for the Fourth of July this year, after two years of taking a hiatus during the coronavirus pandemic. Fireworks in the Towson area are provided through donations from the community. "The more contributions, the longer and more awesome the display can be," organizers say. Businesses, individuals, community groups and organizations can donate. Make checks payable to TCA/Fireworks at Towson Communities Alliance (TCA) at P.O. Box 5421, Towson, MD 21285-5421. People can also donate through Paypal. Fundraising challenges and uncertainty over public health prompted the cancellation in 2021 of the fireworks, although Towson still hosted its Fourth of July Parade. In 2020, the fireworks were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which also resulted in most events being canceled. For 2022, the parade and other Fourth of July festivities in Towson will be on Monday, July 4.
