Description

DARIEN, CT — A catalytic converter was recently reported stolen from a vehicle in Darien, according to police. In a news release, Police Sgt. Dan Skoumbros said a man told officers he parked his car on Ledge Road around 1 p.m. on Feb. 27 and discovered the part was cut from his vehicle around 9:30 p.m. that night. The theft was reported to police on March 1. The incident is one of a number of catalytic converter thefts reported in Darien so far this year. Last month, police said the part was reported stolen from four different vehicles in the span of a week. In many reported instances, the driver often notices the part is missing after their vehicle begins making unusually loud noises when started.
