Here are the top stories today in Denver: After 33 years hocking records tapes and cds, Twist and Shout owner retiring. Paul Epstein emailed a message to customers on Monday: "After 33 years of running Twist And Shout, Jill and I have decided it is time to retire." No need to panic, the store isn't going any where – as longtime manager, Patrick Brown, is taking over and promises that "nothing will change" at the record shop on East Colfax. (Westword)Family moves to Colorado, then the trailer with all their belongings gets stolen. A family moving to Denver didn't quite get the welcome they were expecting after their belongings were stolen, along with the trailer their property was packed in, last Saturday. A 7News Denver Gives page has been set up to help the family. (7News)Is the pandemic really over? It sure feels like Colorado is acting like it is, but is it safe yet? After more than two years after the first cases of COVID-19 came to Colorado and sent people to work from home in droves, businesses across the state are trying to figure out how to return to normal, whatever that is. (CPR)Fentanyl test strips and naloxone available from the City of Denver. Last fall Denver launched a pilot program that provided residents with naloxone — the drug that reverses the effects of an overdose — and fentanyl testing strips, in hopes of saving lives like the ones lost in Commerce City. (9News)Is the Colorado Springs Police Department spying on social activists? The bombshell Colorado Spring Independent report alleges that CSPD had placed undercover officers within several activist groups. Police say they were investigating criminal activity, not trying to interfere with individuals exercising their First Amendment rights. (CPR) Transportation News: CDOT's crumbling infrastructure takes its toll on Floyd Hill overpass. Several cars were damaged when a four foot wide hole in the road surface broke away on the I-70 overpass last Wednesday. The hole was so big, it took more than a day to repair. The Colorado Department of Transportation took the opportunity to use the road damage as yet another reason that state lawmakers should approve the $700M the agency is seeking to replace the stretch of highway that includes the crumbling overpass.
