Press release from Sacramento Police Department: March 7, 2022 On March 7, 2022 at approximately 6:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 7700 block of Telfer Way. The caller stated that he had shot his wife and was going to shoot himself. Sacramento Police Department Officers and Sacramento County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to the scene and deployed advanced technology, including unmanned aerial systems, to safely clear the interior of the residence. Utilizing unmanned aerial systems, officers confirmed a male subject and female subject were inside the residence and that each appeared to have at least one gunshot wound. Officers made physical entry and confirmed that both subjects were deceased. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene to take over the investigation. During the preliminary investigation, detectives were able to confirm that the deceased subjects were married. Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident with no outstanding threat to the community. The Sacramento County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin notifications have been made.
