Description
COVENTRY, RI — Coventry residents can safely dispose of household hazardous waste and shred sensitive documents at an eco-depot April 9. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Town Hall annex on Flat River Road.
All Rhode Island residents can sign up for the eco-depot, though appointments are required. Coventry residents can bring up to two boxes of documents for shredding, no appointment needed.
The following items will be accepted:
Full or partially full cans of oil-based or latex paintMedical sharps (needles, etc.)Fluorescent light bulbsGasolineDisinfectantUsed motor oilLawn and propane tanksSince 2001, the eco-depot program has provided a free way for Rhode Islanders to properly dispose of household hazardous waste. When disposed of improperly, these substances can damage the environment and contaminate the state's waterways.
