Felony Charges Dropped After Bucks Co Hospital Damaged By Patient

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Bucks County District Attorney's Office has dropped felony charges against a Bristol Township man and mental health patient after an outburst at a local hospital in 2020 caused thousands of dollars in damage. All six felony charges against Dudly Ulysse, 25, were dismissed. Ulysse was arrested in July of 2020 after the incident inside a hospital room at Lower Bucks Hospital's mental crisis center, where he was staying. Ulysse, a paranoid schizophrenic, had been in the center for two weeks when he was told he tested positive for COVID-19. He proceeded to break hospital property and threatened to spit on hospital security who tried to intervene. Many felt the arrest was not justified due to Ulysse's mental condition. Community members, including former classmates, protested his arrest outside the hospital, with calls to drop all charges made to the District Attorney. Ulysse was a former Truman High School and Bucks county Techincal High School student, having played football for the latter school's team. As part of the agreement surrounding the dropping of charges, Ulysse will partake in a two-year supervised accelerated rehabilitative program, Deputy District Attorney David Keightly Jr. told the Bucks County Courier Times.
