JOLIET, IL — A 45-year-old Joliet man was arrested Monday night after Joliet police say Malcohm Frenzel broke a basement window, so he could sneak into a house where he once lived.
Joliet police arrested Frenzel on charges of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass.
Around 6:25 p.m., officers were sent to the 3300 block of DHutchison Avenue for a report of a burglary in progress.
"Upon arrival, Officers learned that Frenzel was a past resident of the home and had entered by breaking a basement window," police spokesman Dwayne English announced.
Police talked with the property manager "and it was determined that Frenzel was not a resident and was not supposed to be in the home," police reports show.
After being let in by one of the current tenants, Joliet police found Frenzel in a room in the basement.
"Frenzel aggressively charged at officers, but was quickly taken into custody without further incident. Officers noted Frenzel's hands were cut by the broken window glass," English stated.
