LAKE FOREST, CA — Lake Forest officials announced Tuesday 20 Hometown Hero Banners were up for grabs for residents to honor loved ones in the military. The Hometown Hero Banners are $300 each and will be displayed from light poles on Civic Center Drive from May 2022 to May 2023, Lake Forest officials said. Each banner will include the name of the resident being honored, their formal military photo and which branch of the armed forces they joined. Anyone considered for a banner must be able to verify their duty status and connection to the city, Lake Forest officials said.
