ELMHURST, IL — The Elmhurst City Council unanimously voted Monday to settle and part ways with a longtime firefighter.
Under the settlement, firefighter Eric Burmeister is set to get $80,000 from the city, an official said.
"There is no admission on the part of the city of any liability," attorney Donald Storino said at the meeting. "This is an effort to settle a disputed EEOC claim."
The city has not posted the settlement agreement to its website.
On Tuesday, Patch filed a public records request for the agreement and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaint.
A Patch story on Monday detailed Burmeister's issues with the city over medical privacy and fitness-of-duty exams.
